About Not Quite Nothing
nQn is based in Chautauqua County, at the southwestern corner of New York State, although photography occasionally ventures out of the area. The primary interest at first was amusing signs and interesting takes of other subjects within the county. This unfocused theme was later removed, and we now strive to post our best shots regardless of subject matter or location. Still, location is limited to the areas where I spend most of my time, and that is around Jamestown, NY, and the Oil City-Franklin area of Pennsylvania.

The schedule is somewhat variable due to the ebb and flow of creativity (and free time, for that matter). The current goal is two images per week.
I started in 2005 with a then-current Canon PowerShot A510, but I have since progressed to a Nikon D40 with the boring kit lens. Images typically have minimal editing, since I'm trying to shoot them right in the first place. Most have nothing more applied than a quick scaling and sharpening with the GIMP.
